Q1: How much downtime can be expected from your site on average?
A: We at Pakhosters provide the very best hosting services available to make your experience with us as comfortable and problem free as possible. We offer 99.9% uptime for our network. Server uptime, however, depends on a variety of variables and if a problem occurs, it is usually dealt with and fixed within fifteen minutes.


Q2: How can I access my account control panel?
A: You can access the control panel by visiting our website, http://www.pakhosters.com and logging into our control panel login. Your username and password information would have been sent to you upon registration via an Account Confirmation Email.


Q3: Do you offer reselling options?
A: We certainly do. Please visit our Reseller Questions section in this FAQ to discover the details of our reseller program.


Q4: Would I be able to change my username after I register?
A: No, the username selected at registration would be permanent and the changing of it would cause conflicts in MySQL databases as well as other applications involved hence we do not offer changing usernames post registration.


Q5: How can I cancel my account?
A: Please contact us at support@pakhosters.com with a description of your reason for wanting to cancel your account and our support team will guide you through the process.


Q6: Can you transfer my website from my old host to your servers for me?
A: Unfortunately we cannot transfer your website from your old host to our servers for you. We would recommend that you contact us for support and we can assist you with uploading your site via FTP or that you contact a web developer to effect the transfer for you.

Q1: I have registered and signed up. How do I begin uploading my site?
A: The first step to uploading your site once you have registered with us is to visit our website at http://www.pakhosters.com and log in. After a successful login attempt, you will be taken to our Control Panel. Here, all you need to do to start uploading your page is click on the FTP Manager icon. After this, you need to click on the UnlimitedFTP option and allow it to load. If the application load option does not show up, you may need to install Java Virtual Machine on your machine: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp (Macintosh users can go here http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp). Once UltimateFTP has loaded, the interface should look a lot like an ordinary Windows File manager, with the items listed in the left columns to be folders and the items on the local hard drive and the items in the right column being a list of folders and files on the server. Simply browse to the folder with your webpage saved on your local hard drive in the left column then browse to the public_html folder in the right column. This being done, all you need to do is highlight the files you want uploaded and then click on the upload button. Please ensure that your homepage is named index.html before uploading it. All website folders and files need to be in the public_html folder in order for the public to access them.


Q2: Do you allow websites with adult content to be hosted on your servers?
A: No, we do not allow adult or pornographic contents on our servers.


Q3: Would any type of advertising be placed on my account or site?
A: We do not place any type of advertising such as banners, pop ups, etc. on your website.

Q1: How long does it take to get my site online?
A: Your site should be up and running with 1-4 hours on the same day as your order submission, provided all the information provided for registration is accurate. Your account information will be emailed t o you, after which you may begin uploading your files and preparing your site immediately.


Q2: I have not received a confirmation email yet, how long should I wait before trying to order again?
A: To be on the safe side and ensure no double payments go through, we would recommend contacting our customer support staff regarding your order and they will check if it went through and why the confirmation has not reached you. At times, this can be due to a simple typo in the email address field so such issues can be quickly and easily resolved.

Web hosting questions

Q1: How can I avoid downtime when transferring my website from my old host to pakhosters?
A: You can nearly avoid any downtime altogether by registering with us (Pakhosters.com) and once the account is ready, you can upload your website files to Pakhosters. Next, put in a request for a domain name transfer with your domain registrar, which should be effective within 24-48 hours.  After this is done, your website should be running from the Pakhosters server and you can take 24-48 hours to ensure everything is running smoothly, then cancel your old hosting account to ensure a smooth transition.


Q2: Where are your severs physically located?
A: Our servers are physically located in Arizona in the United States.


Q3: Can I have multiple domains pointing to my site or a directory on my site?
A: Certainly, you can have multiple domains pointing to the same site or directory on your website. On sighing up, simply choose the main domain you want to use and later you can log into the control panel and add the other domains through the add-on domains section of the control panel.


Q4: How can I upload files?
A: The easiest method of uploading files to your host is to use an FTP Client:
Step one is to locate an FTP client. A quick search on google will reveal several good choices such as CuteFTP, FlashFXP and so on.
1. Download the FTP client of your choice.
2. Install the FTP client.
3. Run the FTP client.
4. In the "Address" field, enter your domain name
5. In the "Username" field, enter your cpanel username.
6. In the "Password" field, enter your cpanel password.
7. Let the “port” setting remain "21"
8. Click "Quick Connect"/”Connect”

The left side of the client, when connected, would show the files that are located on your PC while the right side would show files on your server. Simply double-click the "public_html/" or the "www/" folder on the RIGHT side. This is the "root" of your website. All you need to do is fine the files you want to upload on the LEFT side of the screen and drag them to the RIGHT. This will then upload the files to your website.


Q5: What is the difference between a “parked” and “add on” domain?
A: A parked domain simply points a new domain name to your primary account domain while an add on domain makes it appear as if the new domain is hosted on its own account despite the files actually being located on the same primary domain.

Q2: Do you provide direct support to end users I have recruited via the reseller program?
A: Generally we do not provide support to end users from the reseller programs. You are free to contact us for any support queries they have asked you about that you are unable to answer and we will be happy to assist you so that you can relay the answer to your clients.


Q3: Would you be directly billing my clients?
A: We provide you with the web space, bandwidth, and other hosting related features but you are responsible for billing and support to your end user.
